The Brown Bear lives in northern North America, Europe and Asia. It is the most widely distributed bear in the world. Brown Bears hibernate during the Winter month and in spite of eating up to 90 pounds of food a day in the fall, they will weigh half their fall weight when they awake in the Spring time. Also during the winter hibernation is when cubs are born. The cubs stay with their mother for approximately 2 ½ years so this species of bear breed once every 3 years. The average life span, in the wild, of the brown bear is 25 years, with the average weight being 700 pounds. Being an Omnivore, the bear mostly feed on berries and vegetation, but do eat rodents and larger game including moose.Using our Tiny Ones series of specie specific figurines we have created a wonderful surprise Gift Box ornament.
