The Bearded Collie is though to originate in Britain, with the Komondor, in Central Europe, but they were used as a herding dog in Scotland for so long they began to be knows as the Highland Collie, referring to Northern Scotland. The word “Collie” is a generic Scottish word which loosely translates to “dogs that heard sheep”. The AKC recognized the “Beardies” as they are commonly referred to, in the Herding Group in 1976, but they were not allowed to compete at the Westminster Kennel Club yearly show until 1978. They range in size from 20 to 22 inches tall at the withers. The coat is medium in length, flat and shaggy and needs to be brushed very frequently. Puppies are born with the colors that will follow them their entire lives, but this may lighten a bit in adult-hood.

Measuring approximately 4” tall and 2” wide, this ornament is hand painted stone resin. Crossed Candy Canes hold up a green platform, on which we mount one of our detailed, breed specific Tiny Ones figurines. Each figurine is wearing a winter scarf and has a gold tone cord for hanging this unique decoration from your Christmas tree, or anywhere you’d like to have a little company! Individually packaged and labeled in our blister packs, ready to give as a gift, or hang in your store!
