It wasn’t until 1933 when the first Lhasa’s were brought to the US and given as gifts from the 13th Dalai Lama. Their coat is long and dense to protect them from the harsh Tibetan weather, and does require frequent brushing and grooming. This breed can come in many colors from light fawn to black. Some Lhasa change color with age, lightening a few shades with time Many Lhasa Apso owners enjoy keeping their companions in the shorter “puppy cut”.
